I have always loved the idea of boot camp and after seeing a Groupon for 20 sessions at an incredible price I decided to go for it - and I am so glad I did to say the least! In the first few weeks of 45 min. sessions 3x/ week my mind was blown when I stepped on the scale and saw I had lost 11 pounds. It was an incredible feeling when I was wearing clothes that didn't fit just prior to starting the class. So many coworkers, friends, family and neighbors have told me they can see a huge difference and I tell them the class truly works. Chris, the Instructor, is awesome and really cares about the health and long term benefits his class will bring to all his students. I don’t believe he has a mean bone in his body and never raises his tone in class to anybody. He works with everyone on their own levels and is very encouraging. I have asthma and in the beginning I was having a lot of problems but Chris has patiently guided me through the struggles, as well as the rest of the class. When I walked into my first class everybody looked to be in shape and all I could think was how was I going to keep up with them! I have now realized that we are all there for one reason or another and we get along great and treat each other with respect and admiration. I feel that there is nothing better than my boot camp classes that I even signed up for another 7 months!! The best feeling I get is every time I leave there I am soaking wet from another great workout and I can feel the calories melting off.
I have known Chris for about 6 months now. His approach to fitness is different and makes you want to do something. Now that I have started, I feel better about myself as a person. The small group setting has so many advantages when working out and the personal training touch that Chris offers is priceless. His knowledge, expertise and personal individual plan for each and every person helps you reach your realistic goals in getting into shape, mentally and physically.
Not only that but I have met great people who have opened up a new world for me. I have traded in my lounge chair for 5K races, rock wall climbing, and hiking! All thanks to Chris and his confidence in me.
This boot camp changed my life. I never had a weight problem or exercised a day in my life. Then I hit my forty's and the party was over. By the time I was fifty I did not recognize the woman in the mirror. I lost and gained the same 5 pounds over and over again. I am happy to say 6 months later I have lost 13 pounds, 2 inches in my waist, and 2 dress sizes! One more size to goal!
Mercer County Boot Camp is the perfect way to get in shape. You get the best of both worlds, personalized training sessions in a smaller group. Chris does a excellent job of catering the workout routines to your personal fitness level, whether you are a beginner or more advanced. His extensive knowledge of fitness and body chemistry makes it easy to understand exactly what and why you are doing specific exercises. When I Started 5 months ago i hit a training plateau, this class helped me bust through and got me excited about working out again. It's not just the usual chest and bicep routines, every body part is pushed to the limits. It forced me to use muscles i neglect in everyday workouts. My advice to anyone thinking about joining is JUST DO IT.
I joined Mercer County Boot Camp in March with a lot of apprehension due to bad past experiences with trainers and gyms. Trying to make significant changes on my own never seemed to stick. I was immediately welcomed into the group and after the FIRST class, I was feeling muscles in my body that I had never felt before. Every workout is a challenge and it’s always FUN. I actually look forward to waking up on bootcamp days, because I know I’m making steps towards progress. Chris has created a small group experience that allows us to work individually while encouraging each other, and hold each other accountable without EVER feeling like we’re being judged or put down. He is an honest trainer who genuinely cares about each person who walks through his doors. He spends time learning about our goals, our successes and failures. He is the first trainer I have ever met who isn’t in it for the money; he just really wants to see people get healthy and feel good. Mercer County Boot Camp is the best fitness decision I’ve made in a long time.
